Africa. A place of great beauty but also great hardship. The statistics for poverty, death, rape and disease are so horrific they are almost impossible to comprehend. The magnitude of crimes against women and children are shockingly horrendous. The suffering of so many is indescribable.


  • An estimated 147 MILLION orphans in the world. 
  • An estimated 5 MILLION orphans in DR Congo. 
  • Orphaned and abandoned children often live on the streets.
  • Approximately 1 in 5 children in Congo dies before reaching the age of five.
  • Warring militias kidnap & force young children to fight as child soldiers. 
  • Approximately 4 million people have died as a result of genocide and war with militias still pillaging villages, kidnapping children, raping women and committing acts of violence that force innocent people into living life as refugees.
